Garlic


This herb has been used for protection

When evil came to call

Hung around the window

And hung up in the hall


The vampire it would repel

When he came out to feed

If he thought the girl was beautiful

He’d take her to breed


With it, the chef likes to cook

To add a little flavour

His recipe isn’t from the book

His patrons like it to savour

Two and a half thousand highlanders

Marched unto war

Against the mighty royal force

They were up before


The highlanders’ leader

Was visited in his tent

By a ghostly harbinger

Who, as a warning had been sent


He was told that he would die

Upon the battlefield

Then he would have to take the fate

Which he had been dealed


He'd try not to go to battle

But it was not his course

So he went to meet his maker

Thanks to the English force

Sword to sword you could hear the rattle,

He attempted to raid by night,
